On Sunday, May 14th, 2023 all teachers' and students' delegations arrived in Almeria. Teachers and students from schools from Italy, Turkey, Poland,Portugal and Greece met in order to set it in motion the second actual cooperative part of the project. Two teachers and four students for each partner school were selected according to clear criteria from each participating country.

Our rich experience in Almeria, Andalusia
DAY 1 - Monday, 14th May, 2023
The first day of our Erasmus visit to Instituto de Educación Secundaria Carmen de Burgos was an exhilarating immersion into a new cultural and educational experience, brimming with diverse activities that foster collaboration and mutual understanding. As the sun rose over the picturesque town of Huércal de Almería, the day began promptly at 8:15 am with school lessons, where students from various corners of the globe come together to learn and share knowledge.
At 9:00 am, the bustling hall of the school became a hub of excitement as delegations from partner schools were warmly welcomed. Laughter and animated conversations filled the air, setting the tone for a day of meaningful interactions. Shortly after, at 9:15 am, the opening ceremony took place in the Cultural meeting room. There, we had presentations from each participating school, showcasing their unique cultures and educational systems. The highlight of the ceremony was the poignant digital presentation on deforestation, underscoring the importance of global environmental awareness and action.
As the clock stroke 2:00 pm, it's time for a sumptuous welcome lunch meeting back at the school. Delightful aromas waft through the air as participants gather around tables adorned with traditional Spanish delicacies, savoring every bite while engaging in lively conversations. The meal serves not only to satiate hunger but also to strengthen bonds and deepen intercultural understanding. The highlight was the impressive paella, served by the smiling headmaster of the school, mr D. Miguel Ángel Labella Lopera.

Participants were granted precious free time at 4:00 pm to explore the enchanting surroundings at their leisure. Some chose to wander through the cobblestone streets, soaking in the vibrant ambiance, while others opted for quiet moments of reflection in the tranquil town squares. Regardless of how it was spent, this free time allowed participants to further immerse themselves in the beauty and charm of their new surroundings.
DAY 2 - Tuesday, 15th May, 2023
On the second day of the Erasmus visit to the partner school, anticipation ran high as participants geared up for a captivating journey to the historic city of Granada, renowned for its architectural splendor and cultural richness.
The morning began early, with a 7:30 am meeting point to assemble and embark on the adventure ahead. Excitement filled the air as participants eagerly boarded the bus, their spirits brimming with anticipation for the day's itinerary. The journey to Granada commenced, promising a day of discovery and wonder.
By 11:00 am, we arrived in Granada, greeted by the majestic silhouette of the Alhambra against the backdrop of the Sierra Nevada mountains. The group, with members of all delegations, embarked on a tour of the Alhambra, a UNESCO World Heritage site revered for its breathtaking architecture and lush gardens. Participants traversed the intricate corridors and opulent chambers of the Nasrid Palaces, marveling at the intricate arabesques and delicate stucco work that adorn every surface.
Lunch was the opportunity to indulge in the culinary delights of Granada at leisure. Whether feasting on traditional tapas in a quaint tavern or sipping fragrant tea in a bustling plaza, this moment of respite allowed participants to recharge before the afternoon's adventures.
At 4:00 pm, participants set out on a free tour around Granada, immersing themselves in the city's vibrant streets and rich cultural tapestry. From the bustling markets of Alcaicería to the tranquil courtyards of the Albaicín, every corner revealed a new facet of Granada's storied past and dynamic present. The end of an unforgettable day, was the journey back to Almería, with the echoes of laughter and camaraderie filling the air, a testament to the enduring bonds forged through shared experiences and mutual exploration.
DAY 3 - Wednesday, 16th of May, 2023
The 3rd day of the Erasmus visit to the hosting school was a dynamic blend of academic engagement, collaborative preparation, and immersive cultural exploration, centered around the urgent issue of climate change. From classroom discussions to hands-on activities, participants delved into the complexities of environmental stewardship while also embracing the rich heritage of Almería.
The day started at 8:15 am with school lessons, providing a foundation of knowledge and insight to inform the day's thematic focus on climate change. Students from diverse backgrounds came together in the spirit of shared learning, eager to explore the interconnected issues shaping our planet's future.
At 9:15 am, the school buzzed with activity as students lead guided tours around the campus, offering glimpses into their daily lives and showcasing the preparations underway for the upcoming climate change conference. With creativity and dedication, stands were adorned with informative displays and interactive exhibits, each one designed to educate and inspire action on this critical issue.
At 11:45 am, the much-anticipated climate change conferences commence, offering a platform for impassioned dialogue and knowledge-sharing among students and educators alike. From innovative solutions to pressing environmental concerns to calls for collective action, each presentation serves as a rallying cry for a more sustainable future.
The afternoon brought a shift in focus as participants gathered at 5:00 pm for a meeting at the Alcazaba, a historic fortress overlooking the city of Almería. Against the backdrop of ancient stone walls and panoramic views, they embarked on a guided tour, immersing themselves in the rich tapestry of Almería's cultural heritage. From the winding streets of the old town to the sun-drenched shores of the Mediterranean, every corner of Almería revealed a new facet of its storied past and vibrant present. As the tour drew to a close at 7:00 pm, participants bid farewell to the Alcazaba, their hearts filled with gratitude for the opportunity to explore and learn in this captivating city.
DAY 4 - Thursday, 17th of May, 2023
The fourth day of the Erasmus visit unfolded as a captivating exploration of natural wonders and environmental stewardship, offering participants a unique opportunity to witness firsthand the delicate balance between preservation and protection. From the rugged beauty of the Cabo de Gata Natural Park to the innovative efforts of the Forest Fire Department, each activity underscored the importance of sustainable practices in safeguarding our planet's treasures.
The day began at 8:30 am, as participants gathered at the school for a meeting before embarking on a scenic journey to Alhama. Spirits were high as they boarded the bus, eager for the adventures that lie ahead. Upon arrival in Alhama at 9:00 am, the group was welcomed by the members of the Forest Fire Department , where they were treated to a captivating demonstration of helicopter performance. Against the backdrop of azure skies and rolling hills, skilled pilots showcase their maneuvers, highlighting the critical role of aerial firefighting in mitigating the devastating impact of forest fires. Following the performance, participants received an in-depth explanation of the department's operations, gaining insights into the strategies employed to combat wildfires and protect vulnerable ecosystems.
At 10:30 am, the journey continued as the group boarded the bus bound for Cabo de Gata, a pristine coastal paradise nestled within the Almería province. From the moment they arrived until the afternoon's end, participants ere immersed in the breathtaking beauty of the Natural Park, exploring its diverse landscapes and tranquil beaches. They traversed the rugged coastline, visiting different beaches within Cabo de Gata. From secluded coves with crystalline waters to expansive stretches of golden sand, each stop offered a glimpse into the park's unparalleled natural beauty. Along the way, participants had the opportunity to bask in the warmth of the Mediterranean sun.
DAY 5 - Friday, 18th of May, 2023
The fifth day of the Erasmus visit to Instituto de Educación Secundaria Carmen de Burgos encapsulated a culmination of learning, collaboration, and celebration, as participants came together to reflect on their experiences and prepare for future endeavors. From creative workshops to strategic planning sessions, the day was filled with meaningful activities that foster camaraderie and innovation.

From 9:30 am to 11:15 am, groups engaged in a dynamic workshop held in the Cultural meeting room. Here, creativity flourished as participants come together to create banners and slogans that capture the spirit of their Erasmus experience. Through vibrant colors and poignant words, they expressed their shared values and aspirations, forging tangible symbols of unity and solidarity. Simultaneously, from 9:30 am to 11:15 am, the group of teachers convened for a strategic meeting, laying the groundwork for future mobilities and collaborations. Drawing upon their collective expertise and insights gained throughout the visit, they charted a course for continued growth and innovation within the Erasmus framework.
Participants, amidst laughter and animated conversations, strengthened bonds and solidified friendships, setting the stage for the festivities to come. The highlight of the day arrived at 1:00 pm with the closing and certificates ceremony. In a poignant display of gratitude and appreciation, participants came together to reflect on their shared journey and celebrate their achievements. Certificates of participation were awarded, serving as lasting mementos of the bonds forged and memories created during their time together.
