The organization has already been involved in the last 20 years in European and international projects :
|
Among the international projects, the NHSMUN (National High School Model United Nations) is running almost every year- except for the last two ones because of the Covid-19 Pandemic-leading the students participants through an education project towards the future diplomatic with a simulation at the UN General Assembly in New York.

Moreover, the organization is the leader in the province being a pilot school for teachers coaching and professional development. In the last years, according to the National Plan of schools digitization, it has started a process towards didactic innovation and the use of new tools in the classrooms (LIM and virtual classes). Thanks to both online and face-to-face seminars and training courses some of our teachers have begun to experiment new methodologies and pedagogical tools (cooperative learning, flipped classrooms, project based learning).
We are now planning new mobilities in Europe because teachers' lifelong learning and the high quality of teaching and non teaching staff competences have always been at the core of our institution as the enhancement of the students with curricula of excellence - and sometimes with fewer opportunities. Moreover, being an eTwinning school, the organisation is characterized by shared leadership (Headmistress and her staff), a good e-policy for the e-safety inside and outside the classrooms and a great role in the education of other teachers and Headmasters of the territory, ensuring an inclusive environment for students of every ability and culture, their parents and the wider community.

Professional Development
Since 2014 the IIS Medi has been involved in two Erasmus KA1 projects for the staff mobility: “Being a Teacher in Europe” (2014-16) and “Euroteaching” (2019/21). Priorities of the Action were the development of professional careers improving the knowledge of new teaching methodologies and new learning environment (Finland), learning new tips for European planning (Spain), enhancing CLIL approach and teachers’ linguistic skills (England, France) in foreign languages (English and French). The first one has already been implemented.

We are currently running the second project, “Euroteaching”, started three years ago and then froze because of the Covid-19 Pandemic. We obtained its extension so the activities can be carried out until August 2022. Recently, the IIS Medi got the Accreditation for the mobility of individuals (KA1), both teachers and students, inside the new Erasmus Program (2021-2027).
